Welcome! I’m Charon.
I am a New England artist who creates detailed artwork bringing together science, nature, legends and folklore against the backdrop of liminal and historic spaces, bringing their collective and incredible stories to life.
I work from field sketches, photo reference and journal entries I personally gather at each visited site to create hyper realistic artworks focusing on what we miss seeing all around us in the rush to complete a guided tour, museum visit or simply living our lives.
My work sits at the intersection of scientific accuracy and creative wonder. My mediums include graphite, scratchboard, watercolor, oils and digital tech (no generative AI).
I’m still chasing that powerful feeling I’ve had since childhood — the sense that if you look closely enough, everything is more interesting, beautiful and mysterious than you could ever have possibly imagined.
